Horse Country Dream Home

One of our most memorable projects over the years is this stunning French country-style home in the heart of horse country. This home, which won an award for the New Builder’s House of the Year, was featured in an article on the design website Frontgate.com.

“An allèe of leaf-filled trees shades the drive over gently rolling landscape. Fenced pasture filled with clover and several happily-fed thoroughbreds outline the lay of the land. A turreted and chimney-dotted roofline looms over the horizon, followed by a sprawling French-styled chateau that if you didn’t blink twice, would be the icing on the cake after a transatlantic voyage,” the article begins.

This project took a year of planning, and more than a year and a half  to complete construction, but it was worth it. Located on 16 acres of pristine farmland near the Kentucky Horse Park, it has many intricate features, including a curving staircase in the turret, arched doorways, cedar ceiling beams and custom, hand laid brick floors in the kitchen.

Padgett was pleased to help the Weiss family’s dream home become a reality. Read more about this project on Frontgate.com.
